Action: Patchouli is an anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antiseptic, antitoxic, astringent, decongestant, diuretic, insecticidal, and a stimulant. It may be used as a deodorant. It works as a digester of toxic material, may help with skin conditions, water retention, wounds, weight reduction, cellulite, and help prevent wrinkles. It is also good for insect bites and snake bites. Also good for use with dandruff and for depression.
Application: Apply topically to the wrists, behind the ears, and on the neck and face as well as point of need. Rub between hands and breathe in the fragrance. Can be used as perfume. Diffuse.
Fragrance Influence: Sedating and calming.
Safety Data: Consult with physician if pregnant or under doctor's care. Test small area of skin prior to use for sensitivity. If skin irritation occurs, do not use water to wash, but use a carrier oil to dilute. Wash hands thoroughly after using oils. Avoid contact with eyes. Not for use on children 6 years and younger. Approved by the FDA as a food additive.
Companion Oils: Can be used with most oils, but goes especially well with bergamot, clary sage, frankincense, geranium, ginger, lavender, lemongrass, myrrh, pine, rosewood and sandalwood.
